In 2012 P was selected to be a member of the DCCI‘s Education Panel and has been facilitating CRAFTed and DesignSKILLS projects ever since. The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland’s Education Panel aims for the development and delivery of training programmes relating to the Visual Arts and Design curriculum at primary (CRAFTed) and secondary (DesignSKILLS) levels, as well as, the delivery of CPD for Visual Arts teachers.
P is the founder of Art in the Park – Cork and acted as its Project Manager throughout its artists in residence phase, which ran until 2013 at The Lord Mayor’s Pavilion, Fitzgerald Park, Cork City. In this beautiful Arts and Crafts style building P created art inspired by the park, as well as invited other Cork City artists, designers and crafts people for collaborations and offered opportunities to exhibit their works and to be part of the Education Programme. P also offered year-round workshops in the building.
Art in the Park on Facebook is the current point of contact and championing of cultural as well as socio-environmental projects happening in Cork City and beyond.

Patricia “P” Gurgel-Segrillo (she/they) has a long-time member of the Visual Artists Ireland and has been registered with the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland since 2011.

P has been grateful for the support of New Irish Art Project and for the assistance of the Cork City Enterprise Office.

In 2022 P earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Innovation Through Design Thinking from the University College Cork, Ireland, and has been applying the DT principles to a neuro-affirming, queer-friendly approach to facilitation.
